Checking this list the night before the event and again before departing from home should be a part of your pre-race ritual. Preparedness and punctuality set you up for success!
π² Review the race flyer and Team Snap event details. Make sure TeamSnap notifications are on so you donβt miss any last minute updates in Team Chat.
π² League number plate - Coaches will distribute these and keep between races. Donβt lose your race plate; replacements are $15!
π² Full water bottles or hydration pack - Fill up at home or at your hotel or campsite; donβt arrive with empty bottles!
π² Driving directions to the race

π² Helmet
π² Eye protection - clear glasses are your safest bet
π² Padded bike shorts and baggie shorts if you like them
π²Team Jersey - You must wear your team jersey in the race; no exceptions!
π² Gloves - full finger recommended
π² Personal tools: Multi-tool, tube, tire levers, pump or CO2 cartridges and head. Course marshals can help you fix a flat without penalty if you have your own tools so be prepared! (11th/12th grace racers will receive a time penalty if a marshal helps them.)
π² Arm warmers (weather dependent)
π² Short or long sleeve base layer for under your jersey (weather dependent)
π² Lightweight jacket for before the race (weather dependent)
π² Extra clothes for after the race, including socks!
π² Sun block
π² Bug Spray
π² Preferred energy food for during race (if doing multiple laps)
π² Post-race snack or small meal (there are usually food trucks at races, but not always, plus they can have long lines)
π² Towel (good for getting dressed/undressed discretely and cleaning-up afterwards)
π² Small game or activity for passing time in PZ
π² Plastic bag to put dirty/wet clothes into for drive home
π² Snacks - team will also have some at PZ
π² Camp chairs for Pit Zone and for parent spectating. Tip: put your name on your chair.
π² A jug of water is also great for washing after the race!
