✅ Only registered athletes and coaches may pre-ride the course. Only athletes and approved volunteers can be on course during the race. Everyone on the course must have a race plate; no exceptions!
🚳 No riding bikes in Pit Zone! This is a league rule.
🎪 Otters Pit Zone is for athletes and on-duty coaches only. We don’t have enough space to accommodate all coaches and parents or other family members. Otters parents will set-up a spectating area along the course with their own tent marked with an Otters flag. When coaches are not actively volunteering (volunteer, warm-ups, etc.), they should not camp out in Pit Zone. We love our coaches, but we just do not have enough room. Thanks for your cooperation!
🫰Please do not bring valuables, like iPads, laptops, or video game systems, to Pit Zone. Items are often lost in Pit Zone, and these can also be a distraction. The team and Pit Zone volunteers are not responsible for keeping track of athletes’ gear.
🐕🦺 No unleashed dogs at the race! Dogs should be kept out of the team tent area, including our team tents. No dogs in our Pit Zone please!
🚮 Pick up after yourself in Pit Zone; athletes are responsible for keeping Pit Zone tidy.
🚫 No smoking or alcohol in Pit Zone.
🗣️ No foul language.
🥤 Athletes doing more than one lap can get food and drink hand-ups in the designated Feed Zone. Only approved coaches or senior athletes wearing team gear can be the Feed Zone. Parents and coaches cannot offer hand-ups to athletes outside of the Feed Zone.
🤗 Support your teammates at all times. Look out for each other and offer help if you see someone struggling or looking lost. Cheer for your all your teammates and spend more time at the finish line and out of Pit Zone then you spend in it.
⛔ Unless someone asks you to help, there’s no reason to mess with a teammate’s bike, such as switching gears or letting air out of tires. This is uncool and potentially unsafe and will not be tolerated. Please also refrain from teasing, razzing, and sarcasm, especially on race day when we should all be supporting each other with encouraging words and actions.
😖 Important! You may experience frustration on race day and we want you to be able to express frustration and work through fears and other hard emotions with your coaches. We are all human, and while you may not be able to keep the vibes positive at all times, we ask that you use kind language with yourself, your teammates, and coaches.
⁉️ Any questions about rules or race results should be directed to a Head Coach or Team Directors ONLY. Any race disputes should go through HC ONLY. Parents or other coaches should not go directly to league staff with disputes.
